About The Position

The primary function of this position is to provide a combination of technical and resource services in the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of computers and associated peripherals. Provides immediate solutions when possible, and furnishes feedback to users in a timely manner. This position addresses issues and problems that affect multiple users, providing support and mentoring to staff of all levels. Other functions include maintaining network security, reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to computer systems to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting with the Meaningful Use compliance as described by CMS.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Planning, organizing and completing assigned work in a timely manner.
  • Preparing reports, statements, and entries in accordance with established procedures and requirements.
  • Working effectively and accurately under narrow time limitations utilizing time, equipment and materials to the most efficient manner possible.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to convey information to users having different levels of understanding of computer systems.
  • Professional and courteous customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Time management.
  • Advanced computer troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
  • Minimum of two years IT experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience maintaining network security and email.
  • Training in computer technology including the maintenance of servers, networks and email.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and related security of data.
  • Duties of the position require sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
  • Must be flexible to adjust to various details of the job which include frequent interruptions, multiple projects, and requests for interpretations of various regulations.
  • Visual acuity is required to read and prepare a variety of reports.
  • Normal range of hearing is required to communicate effectively with a variety of customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of two year college curriculum in computer technology to an Associate Degree with coursework up to advanced accounting, business math, computer technology and fundamental supervision is preferred.
  • Additional experience of up to two years may be substituted for the educational requirement.
