About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead and operate the IT function at Vynca, a healthcare technology and services company focused on Palliative Care, Advance Care Planning (ACP), and Enhanced Care Management. In this role, you’ll manage a distributed team spanning multiple time zones—from Hawaii to the East Coast—while remaining technically engaged and ready to contribute directly when needed. This is a true player-coach position that sits at the intersection of team leadership and hands-on IT. You’ll set direction, develop and mentor your team, and oversee the security and compliance posture of our endpoint and access environment, while also being willing to jump in to provision a laptop, troubleshoot access issues, or assist with escalations alongside the team. As a healthcare organization that handles Protected Health Information (PHI) in a HIPAA-regulated environment, security, compliance, and the protection of sensitive patient data are core responsibilities woven into every aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a management, team lead, or supervisory capacity.
  • Direct experience working within healthcare or similarly regulated environments, with strong familiarity with HIPAA, PHI handling requirements, security controls, and audit readiness practices.
  • Proven experience managing distributed IT teams across multiple time zones, including establishing support coverage models and escalation processes.
  • Strong background in hardware support, software and endpoint provisioning, troubleshooting, identity and access management, and IT operations.
  • Practical experience implementing security best practices, access management controls, endpoint security measures, and compliance-focused IT processes.
  • Experience administering MDM solutions, SSO and identity platforms, and cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across technical and non-technical teams in a remote environment.
  • Ability and willingness to support a distributed team operating across Hawaii Standard Time (HST) through Eastern Time (ET). Pacific Time Zone candidates are strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a healthcare technology, healthcare services, or digital health organization.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2, HITRUST, or similar compliance frameworks, including audit preparation and evidence collection.
  • Experience administering endpoint management, device compliance, and security tooling within a remote-first organization.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, Security+, CISSP, or other IT and security-related credentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements, develop team members, and scale IT processes in a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a distributed IT team operating across multiple time zones, ensuring consistent support coverage and service delivery across the organization.
  • Own day-to-day IT operations, including hardware lifecycle management, software and endpoint provisioning, user support, and identity and access management for a fully remote workforce.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical resource, assisting with hardware deployments, provisioning, troubleshooting, escalations, and security-related activities when necessary.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes in partnership with Human Resources and Security teams, ensuring timely, accurate, and auditable account and device provisioning.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and oversee hardware procurement, software licensing, vendor relationships, and budget management.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and procedures aligned with HIPAA, SOC 2, and organizational security requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling and protection of Protected Health Information (PHI) through strong access controls, endpoint security, and compliance-focused operational practices.
  • Own identity and access management processes, including user provisioning, least-privilege access controls, authentication standards, and ongoing access reviews.
  • Administer and maintain endpoint security tools, Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms, and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions to support a secure remote workforce.
  • Support audit readiness efforts, compliance initiatives, and evidence collection activities while maintaining thorough documentation of IT policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor and report on IT operational metrics, service levels, incidents, and trends, using data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, Compliance, Human Resources, and business stakeholders to support organizational growth, security initiatives, and technology needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen security controls, enhance the employee experience, and scale IT processes across the organization.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Benefits

  • Employees in patient, client, or customer-facing roles must be vaccinated against influenza. Requests for religious or medical accommodations will be considered but may not always be approved.
