About The Position

Sumitomo Electric U.S.A. Holdings, Inc. (SEUHO), a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a full-time IS Manager in San Marcos, CA. This position reports to the General Manager, IS. The role involves coordinating with SEI to develop and execute business unit IT strategies, building strong working relationships with SEI group staff, and working with U.S. and Japan management to develop and execute IT strategies and operations. The IT Manager will set goals, track metrics, allocate resources, adjust plans, and prepare documentation. Communication with SEI Japan in English and/or Japanese is required. The position also includes supervising the IT team, supporting hiring, training, coaching, development, and discipline, building team communication, delegating responsibilities, and evaluating performance. Additionally, the IT Manager will manage IT projects, define project requirements, budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. This includes creating project documentation, work breakdown structures, and activity plans, reporting project status, risks, and issues, and planning and implementing process and procedure improvements. The role also involves gathering requirements, documenting change scope, calculating ROI, obtaining approvals, coordinating testing, and tracking ROI and other metrics.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, 10–15 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with general office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, and/or Visual Basic .NET.
  • Experience managing relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, MySQL, and/or PostgreSQL.
  • Basic infrastructure and networking experience.
  • Experience implementing and managing business applications, including ERP, CRM, MES, and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with SEI to develop and execute business unit IT strategies.

  • Report project status, risks, and issues to management and stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement process and procedure improvements.
  • Work with local staff to gather requirements and identify business benefits.
  • Document change scope for development and support teams.
  • Work with management to calculate ROI and obtain approvals.
  • Coordinate testing and document results.
  • Track ROI and other metrics to evaluate results.

Benefits

  • Base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 annually.
  • Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location.
  • Base pay is one part of the total compensation and benefits package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
  • This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
