About The Position

Maven AGI is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to oversee the day-to-day technology experience for its employees. This role involves ensuring internal systems, devices, offices, and infrastructure operate smoothly during the company's growth phase. The IT Manager will be a primary owner of the company's IT functions, supporting employees while managing and enhancing the underlying systems. Key responsibilities include identity and access management, laptop and device management, SaaS applications, onboarding/offboarding processes, office networking, conference room technology, security and compliance, and providing employee IT support. This is a highly visible, hands-on position requiring direct troubleshooting, management of employee requests, maintenance of core IT systems, and ensuring new hires are equipped from day one. The role also involves identifying opportunities for improvement through automation, process enhancement, and building scalable, reliable systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical judgment and a dedicated service mindset, enjoying problem-solving, assisting people, and creating a seamless IT environment for employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, IT operations, systems administration, systems engineering, or a related field, preferably in a fast-growing tech company.
  • Experience managing the day-to-day IT function for an in-office or hybrid workforce.
  • Strong hands-on experience with identity and access management, ideally Okta or a similar platform.
  • Strong experience with device management, ideally Jamf Pro, and comfort supporting a primarily Mac environment.
  • Experience administering a wide range of SaaS applications and employee technology systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting laptops, applications, identity and access, networks, conference rooms, and other workplace technology.
  • Working knowledge of office networking and WiFi, with the ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring correct access, equipment, and security.
  • Understanding of security and compliance fundamentals, with experience implementing or maintaining IT controls and policies.
  • Strong service mindset and enjoyment in helping employees solve problems and have a positive technology experience.
  • Organized, responsive, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and improving underlying processes or systems.
  • Comfort with automation and scripting, with an interest in using technology to enhance IT operations efficiency and scalability.

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi.
  • Experience exploring thoughtful uses of AI and automation in IT support and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations and employee support, serving as a primary resource for hardware, software, access, connectivity, and other technology needs.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including laptop setup, account provisioning, permissions, software access, and equipment collection.
  • Manage identity and access management systems (e.g., Okta) to ensure appropriate and secure employee access to necessary tools.
  • Manage company devices and endpoints using tools like Jamf Pro, covering provisioning, configuration, security policies, inventory, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer SaaS applications and internal systems, including license management, permissions, access control, configuration, and vendor relations.
  • Manage office IT infrastructure, such as WiFi, networking, conference rooms, AV equipment (Zoom, Google Meet), printers, and other workplace technology.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve employee IT issues with a focus on responsiveness, follow-through, and excellent customer service.
  • Support security and compliance initiatives by maintaining strong IT controls for devices and access, and ensuring systems and processes are documented and auditable.
  • Manage IT equipment and inventory, including purchasing, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and replacement planning.
  • Improve and automate IT workflows for onboarding, access requests, provisioning, and common support issues.
  • Maintain and expand infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Pulumi for consistent, scalable, and manageable IT systems.
  • Explore and implement AI and automation for IT support and operations, ensuring appropriate human oversight.
  • Collaborate with other departments (People, Security, Engineering, Finance, Workplace) to support employees and address evolving technology needs.
