About The Position

The IT Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for driving the implementation and management of technology solutions that support the company's business objectives within the lumber and building materials industry. This role will require a deep understanding of industry-specific technologies and a passion for leveraging them to optimize operations, enhance customer experience, and drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles preferably within the lumber and building materials industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing complex IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network security, and data management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to stay current with industry trends.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, supply chain management software, and CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific technologies and trends, such as IoT, AI, and blockchain.
  • Certifications in IT management or security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL).

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on Leadership: Design, development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and data centers.
  • Technology Innovation: Identify and implement emerging technologies that can improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Provide end-user support to internal staff by diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues at all levels, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analytics to provide insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and develop technology solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring they deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Team Development: Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees; communicating job expectations, setting and manage performance expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department, seeking out opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs.
  • Budget: Manage the department budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
