About The Position

The IT Manager II is accountable for the delivery of medium-to-high complexity projects. This position plans, initiates, and manages medium-to-high complexity store technology projects involving medium to large-sized cross-functional teams. Under general direction, the IT Manager II – Store Systems is responsible for managing medium to large scale store systems initiatives. This role provides leadership for store hardware lifecycle management, device certification, and deployment governance, ensuring technology solutions are compliant, scalable, supported, and aligned with business objectives. While executing store systems initiatives, the IT Manager II establishes and maintains project governance, work plans, resource plans, and budgets. The role monitors progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met while maintaining project documentation and traceability. The base salary range for this role is $134,300 – $229,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business, Information Systems or Computer Science or related equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience leading project planning and executions in a medium to large company
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills; effective listener
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems, retail hardware/software, and retail store technologies.
  • Resourcefulness - identifies different ways to accomplish work when resources are limited
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with individuals at different organizational levels
  • Vendor contract negotiation and management
  • Influence and Negotiation: able to obtain consensus between two or more internal or external parties with different interests
  • Proven organization skills: ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands
  • Strong MS Office skills – Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft One Drive and Visio. Adept at learning technologies, tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of PMO tools such as OnePlan, Primavera, Planview
  • Experience working with Microsoft, Android, and Unix platforms, as well as databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, and programming/scripting languages including Python and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project delivery methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and manage the store hardware lifecycle roadmap, including operating system strategy and standards, in partnership with the architecture team.
  • Track and manage hardware End-of-Sale (EOS), End-of-Engineering Support (EOES), and End-of-Support (EOS) milestones, and develop multi-year replacement strategies to remediate legacy devices and mitigate risk.
  • Lead annual store device certification, validation, and lab testing activities to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Govern hardware deployments across store locations, including approval of deployment models, rollout schedules, and execution plans.
  • Lead large-scale hardware refresh and rollout programs, leveraging multiple delivery and deployment methodologies.
  • Coordinate end-to-end hardware procurement activities, including bill of materials, vendor coordination, shipment tracking, and delivery.
  • Act as the primary owner for vendor management, including contract/SOW reviews, negotiations, and performance management in collaboration with Legal and IT Contracts.
  • Produce and manage detailed project and workstream plans, ensuring activities are clearly defined, sequenced, resourced, and delivered on schedule.
  • Plan and lead project analysis and stakeholder consultations to define scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, escalating as appropriate.
  • Prepare and present executive-level status reports highlighting progress, risks, and key decisions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, store operations, internal teams, and third-party resources to align expectations and ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to internal teams and external deployment partners.
  • Capture and document lessons learned to improve future programs and initiatives.
  • Review existing operations and drive continuous improvement through process optimization and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain professional accreditations and remain current on project management tools, methodologies, and industry best practices through ongoing development.
