About The Position

The IT Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting warehouse operations with a strong focus on inventory management, asset tracking, and overall warehouse upkeep. This role combines IT hardware support with hands-on warehouse responsibilities and plays a critical part in ensuring equipment's readiness and accuracy across multiple locations. In addition to IT setup and asset management duties, this role helps drive the rollout and ongoing use of a new asset management system, prepares equipment for field technicians, and maintains a highly organized, efficient warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong experience with inventory management, asset tracking, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience with PC imaging, deployment, and hardware configuration.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and computer hardware repair skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to other warehouse locations on a monthly basis.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic inventory systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience repairing PCs and peripherals.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory control.
  • Experience with asset management platforms and barcode/RFID tracking systems.
  • Forklift or warehouse equipment operation experience (or willingness to be certified).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict control and accuracy of IT inventory using asset management systems, with a strong emphasis on tracking, auditing, and reconciliation.
  • Track equipment movement between warehouses and field locations to ensure full visibility and accountability of assets.
  • Conduct routine inventory audits and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of all equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, organize, and ship equipment for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc) is used safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and stage equipment for technicians, ensuring all devices are properly configured, tested, and deployment-ready.
  • Diagnosis, repair, and process returned hardware; determine appropriate disposition (repair, RMA, or retirement).
  • Assist with testing and staging new store technologies in a lab/warehouse setting.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of a new asset management program, including process adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for inventory, repairs, and workflows.
  • Travel monthly to other warehouse locations to assist with inventory, audits, and support.
