About The Position

Under limited supervision and with significant independent judgment, the Manager, IT – Integrations and Automation leads the Integrations Team within Information Technology. This role is responsible for the design, delivery, support, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise integrations and APIs, ensuring integration architecture, API management practices, integration frameworks, and delivery standards align with current operational needs and future business and technology strategy. The role advances modern integration engineering practices including API-first design, cloud-native integration patterns, event-driven architecture, DevSecOps, automation, resiliency, and observability. The role supports integrations with core insurance systems, including Guidewire, and other data and insurance marketplace providers. This leader also assesses enterprise automation opportunities and advances robotic process automation capabilities while coordinating appropriately with teams pursuing modern generative AI capabilities. This position is not responsible for enterprise AI strategy or AI enablement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience leading technical teams, managing priorities, developing talent, and delivering results through others required.
  • Experience with integration architecture, API management platforms, API Gateway technologies, integration frameworks, middleware, event-driven architecture, cloud-native integration patterns, data movement, system connectivity, and production support practices required.
  • Strong technical acumen, including demonstrated understanding of integration architecture, system interoperability, API management, API Gateway technologies, event-driven architecture, security considerations, and operational support models.
  • Ability to align technology decisions with business strategy, enterprise architecture direction, operational needs, and future-state capabilities.
  • Knowledge of insurance technology ecosystems, marketplace providers, and integrations supporting policy, billing, claims, customer, agent, data, and digital capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate vendor solutions and integration approaches for business fit, technical alignment, implementation complexity, operational impact, and long-term sustainability.
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and measure value from automation opportunities, including RPA and related automation efforts.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, collaboration, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze and present technical documentation, business requirements, financial information, and recommendations to business partners, technology leaders, vendors, and senior management.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to communicate technical concepts in clear, user-friendly language.

  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP), Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway, InsuranceSuite Cloud integrations, or similar cloud-based core platform modernization initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with Guidewire, Guidewire Cloud and Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway preferred.
  • Experience assessing, implementing, or supporting robotic process automation solutions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Integrations Team, including daily operations, work prioritization, resource planning, delivery oversight, production support, and continuous improvement of integration practices.
  • Establishes and maintains integration architecture direction, standards, patterns, and frameworks that support scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and alignment with future business and technology strategy.
  • Establishes and governs enterprise API management practices, including API lifecycle management, API Gateway standards, versioning, security, monitoring, developer enablement, and service reuse across the organization.
  • Oversees the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of integrations across enterprise applications, core insurance platforms, third-party providers, and digital channels.
  • Promotes modern software engineering and integration delivery practices including CI/CD, automated testing, code quality standards, DevSecOps, reusable integration frameworks, infrastructure automation, and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
  • Ensures integration solutions support core insurance systems, including Guidewire and Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP), and meet business, operational, data, security, and compliance requirements. Provides technical leadership for Guidewire Cloud integration patterns, Guidewire Cloud Integration Gateway connectivity, and integration modernization initiatives.
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance marketplace providers, solution capabilities, integration models, and vendor ecosystems to inform technology decisions and implementation approaches.
  • Partners with architecture, application development, infrastructure, security, data, business, and vendor teams to ensure integration solutions are strategically aligned, technically sound, and operationally sustainable.
  • Assesses enterprise automation needs and identifies opportunities to use robotic process automation to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and enhance business outcomes.
  • Leads RPA planning, prioritization, implementation, governance, support, and value realization in coordination with business stakeholders and technology partners.
  • Coordinates with teams pursuing modern generative AI capabilities to ensure automation efforts are complementary, without owning enterprise AI strategy or AI enablement responsibilities.
  • Provides technical leadership and decision support for integration design choices, vendor evaluations, implementation plans, production issues, and long-term platform direction.
  • Ensures appropriate change management, testing, documentation, monitoring, incident response, audit support, and operational controls are in place for assigned systems and integrations.
  • Establishes integration observability, logging, tracing, monitoring, alerting, and resiliency standards to improve reliability, accelerate issue diagnosis, and reduce business disruption.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements operational plans, procedures, performance goals, and service expectations for the team.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops staff; prepares and conducts performance appraisals; and supports hiring, workforce planning, corrective action, recognition, and other employment-related activities in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinates resources and activities to achieve project objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
