About The Position

Fort Bend County is seeking an IT Infrastructure Supervisor to plan, manage, and provide work direction for infrastructure, voice, and audio-visual teams. This role ensures customer service levels and SLAs for response times are maintained. The supervisor will coordinate work performed by outside vendors, monitor their service levels for special events like emergency response and elections support, and recommend new technology solutions for network management, infrastructure design, remote connectivity, and Justice Center support. Responsibilities include researching and recommending technology for long-range infrastructure design and implementation planning, as well as recommending and implementing infrastructure policies and technology standards to ensure adherence to approved disaster recovery procedures. The position requires on-call availability 24/7 for IT support issues and participation in emergency management activities during local states of disaster as directed by county managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. (High School/GED and four years of relevant professional experience in addition to 7 years required experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.)
  • 7 years of work-related experience.
  • 5 years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in Cisco technology, protocols, and security systems in a converged network environment which encompasses local, wide area, wireless, and VoIP applications.
  • Strong multi-platform system technical skills.
  • Strong analytical and system design skills.
  • Strong background in technical support and operations management.
  • Exceptional supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, vendors, other employees, and elected officials.

Responsibilities
