About The Position

The IT Infrastructure Intern will work alongside the Infrastructure team to support a modern hybrid IT environment spanning on-premises systems, cloud platforms, automation, identity and access management, data protection, and day-to-day infrastructure operations. This role is designed for a student who already has a foundation in IT and is ready to build deeper hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies.
The intern will contribute to operational support and project-based work under the guidance of experienced team members, with a particular focus on using AI, scripting, and automation to improve processes, reduce repetitive work, strengthen documentation, and increase operational efficiency. The internship is expected to begin in January 2027 for an initial three-month term, with the potential to extend. The position is hybrid and requires three days per week on-site in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Foundational hands-on IT experience gained through a prior internship or job, coursework, technical labs, certifications, a home lab, personal projects, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on exposure to at least one of the following areas: Windows or Linux administration, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, scripting, or automation
• Basic understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts and how systems, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud services work together
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to research issues, test ideas, and learn from results
• Demonstrated technical aptitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies and take on increasingly complex work
• Interest in infrastructure, cloud computing, automation, and the practical use of AI to improve IT operations
• Good communication, documentation, collaboration, and follow-through skills

Responsibilities

• Hybrid Infrastructure Support: Assist with the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization's hybrid infrastructure environment. Gain hands-on exposure to platforms such as Nutanix AHV, Cohesity, AWS, and Azure while helping maintain reliable and secure services.
• Cloud Operations & Platform Support: Support routine AWS and Azure activities including resource management, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and basic governance and cost-awareness efforts. Assist with infrastructure and data platform tasks as team needs and projects require.
• AI, Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Identify repetitive or inefficient processes that can be improved through approved AI tools, scripting, and automation. Help develop, test, and document solutions using technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Terraform, and CloudFormation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Identity and Access Management: Assist with identity and access activities across infrastructure and cloud platforms, including role-based access, permission reviews, policy governance, and the principle of least privilege. Learn how security and governance practices are applied in an enterprise environment.
• Technical Research, Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Research technologies and emerging tools, document findings, and help evaluate practical ways to improve infrastructure operations. Create and improve procedures, diagrams, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks, including opportunities to use AI to make documentation easier to create and maintain.
• Infrastructure Lifecycle and Operational Support: Participate in day-to-day troubleshooting and infrastructure lifecycle activities such as system maintenance, upgrades, firmware updates, equipment deployment, backup and recovery activities, monitoring, and other projects based on team priorities.
