About The Position

Owns the administration and operational performance of IT infrastructure systems including servers, storage, network, and backup systems. Serves as the primary escalation point and technical lead. This is a temporary position employed through an agency.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Infrastructure Administration, a minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with FreshService or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 / CMMC Level 2 network and server compliance.
  • Familiarity with CMDB best practices.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Ability to manage a project effectively to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (switching, routing, firewalls).
  • Demonstrated ability to support Windows Server.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Windows Failover Cluster.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Hyper-V.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and storage systems.
  • Backup and disaster recovery expertise.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-system issues.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Strong customer service background and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate well in person, email, and telephone.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly organized manner and be extremely detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • MCITP, CompTIA A+, or Network+ certification preferred.
  • Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
  • Experience with Cyber-security/major incident response strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and network infrastructure
  • Manage switching, firewall rule implementation, VPN, and wireless networks
  • Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents
  • Lead incident resolution for infrastructure-related issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem management efforts
  • Execute and lead complex changes, upgrades, and deployments
  • Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes are effective
  • Maintain system performance, uptime, and reliability across all sites
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance
  • Coordinate with vendors and support multi-site infrastructure needs
  • Provides Cable Plant Management.
  • Coordinates warranty service and return merchandise authorizations.
  • Collects, records, and distributes technical and administrative documentation.
  • Organizes technical and administrative electronic records assuring integrity.
  • Assists with the development and compliance of department policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Comply with company Information Security requirements and policies
  • Maintains a well-organized and clean layout in defined storage areas.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The expected WA salary range for this position is between $109,000.00 - $150,00.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
