JOB SUMMARY: Leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Airport's infrastructure and cloud environment. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)), virtualization, identity services, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and core technology services that enable critical airport operations. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring both infrastructure architecture knowledge and deep technical implementation capability, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, AWS, hybrid infrastructure, enterprise identity, automation, and operational resilience. Plays a critical role in ensuring the Airport's technology environment is secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with operational, regulatory, and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Cloud & Infrastructure – Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including compute, storage, networking, virtualization, hybrid cloud architecture, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and operational management.
  • Identity & Directory Services – Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Group Policy, RBAC, Conditional Access, identity lifecycle management, and authentication technologies.
  • Infrastructure Engineering – Working knowledge of Windows Server administration, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage, infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Automation – Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates), PowerShell scripting, automation frameworks, and DevOps practices.
  • Security & Compliance – Working knowledge of Zero Trust principles, secure infrastructure architecture, cloud security best practices, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong hands-on infrastructure engineering capability.
  • Ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and lead infrastructure initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud computing, and enterprise technology environments.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and administering Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
  • Experience implementing enterprise identity, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation solutions.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or regulated environments including aviation, transportation, government, or healthcare is preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to pass required FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check.

  • Preferred certifications include one or more of the following: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent virtualization certification.
  • Equivalent education, experience, and certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Designs, implements, and supports Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments, including compute, networking, storage, virtualization, and identity services.
  • Implements and maintains hybrid infrastructure solutions integrating on-premises and cloud resources.
  • Configures and manages Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, backup systems, and core infrastructure services.
  • Designs and maintains Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related enterprise services.
  • Implements Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation technologies to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Develops and maintains backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Monitors infrastructure performance, capacity, availability, and operational health.
  • Supports enterprise application hosting requirements and infrastructure integration.
  • Collaborates with network and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure infrastructure architecture and implementation.
  • Implements identity, access control, and Zero Trust principles in coordination with cybersecurity.
  • Supports infrastructure integration with enterprise applications, operational technologies (OT), and cloud services.
  • Ensures alignment with regulatory requirements (TSA, FAA, NIST).
  • Supports audits, assessments, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure risk management activities.
  • Develops and maintains infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluates infrastructure technologies, cloud services, and vendor solutions.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance for infrastructure and cloud initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
