About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician for their Virginia Beach, Virginia office. This role serves as the main point of contact for technical support across the company, assisting employees in various offices and project locations. The primary focus is to maintain workforce productivity by resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring adherence to company policies and DoD cybersecurity standards. Responsibilities include managing support tickets, deploying and maintaining equipment, providing onboarding support for new employees, and supporting technology setups at office and field locations. The technician will collaborate with internal IT staff, project personnel, and external vendors to deliver dependable and secure IT services throughout the organization. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least three years of practical experience providing end-user support, including diagnosing hardware/software issues and managing IT devices in a professional environment
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft credentials are strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting users in construction, engineering, or design-related industries is a plus
