IT Help Desk intern

About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both Power Platform development and Help Desk/Systems Administration. The intern will spend approximately 60% of their time on Power Platform development, focusing on designing and developing Power Apps, building Power Automate flows, creating Power BI dashboards, and assisting with integrations. The remaining 40% will be dedicated to Help Desk support, including providing Tier 1 support for various devices and applications, assisting with Microsoft 365 administration, supporting Intune and device management, troubleshooting technical issues, and participating in onboarding/offboarding processes and audits. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, documenting solutions, and developing scripts for automation.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages, Python preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with SQL, APIs, and data integration.
  • Understanding of device management tools like Intune.
  • Previous help desk or IT support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) to support business processes
  • Build and maintain Power Automate flows (cloud and desktop) for workflow automation
  • Create and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for business insights
  • Assist with SharePoint and Dataverse integrations
  • Work with data from SQL, APIs, and flat files to create automated pipelines
  • Develop scripts (Python preferred) for data transformation, automation, or integration tasks
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Document solutions and build reusable templates and standards
  • Provide Tier 1 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and applications
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration (user provisioning, licensing, permissions)
  • Support Intune and device management workflows
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, printing, and software issues
  • Participate in onboarding/offboarding processes
  • Participate in audits
  • Other duties as assigned by management
