About The Position

The IT Co-op will support the IT Team in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic, mission-driven nonprofit organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to gain hands-on, real-world experience in a small, collaborative IT environment supporting a diverse user base of staff, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

Requirements

  • Experience using and supporting Microsoft Windows in a networked environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (installation, configuration, and end-user support)
  • Foundational knowledge of networking technologies and their application in Windows-based environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical end-users
  • Currently enrolled in a Drexel University undergraduate or graduate program
  • Eligible for co-op (first, second, or third cycle)
  • Self-starter with a passion for technology and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team

Responsibilities

  • Act as frontline end user support with a heavy focus on customer service
  • Provide Tier 1–2 support via ticketing
  • Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft Office apps, Microsoft 365 suite, VPN/Wi-Fi, printers, and common hardware/peripherals.
  • Administer Microsoft 365: user & license management, shared mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Manage Entra ID basics: MFA, conditional access triage, group membership, device join/registration.
  • Execute a standardized onboarding workflow: create accounts, assign licenses/groups, set mailbox/aliases, provision Teams/SharePoint access, and validate Conditional Access/MFA.
  • Provision Windows devices, apply compliance/config profiles, install baseline apps, and handoff-ready QA.
  • Deliver live or virtual onboarding sessions (30–60 min): M365 essentials (Outlook/Teams/OneDrive/SharePoint), device care, security hygiene (MFA, phishing, data handling), and support/ticketing how-tos.
  • Coordinate with HR/People Ops to ensure day-one readiness and timely offboarding (account disable/transfer, device return, data handover).
  • Own end-to-end lifecycle for laptops, docks, monitors, and peripherals: request intake, procurement coordination, tagging, deployment, loaners/RMAs, and secure decommissioning.
  • Maintain an accurate asset inventor, reconcile with purchasing; track warranties and refresh cycles; maintain spares and reorder thresholds.
  • Administer network printers/MFDs: queues, drivers, print server.
  • Perform routine maintenance (toner/drum, jams, calibration, firmware), manage consumables, and handle vendor break-fix tickets.
  • Monitor Defender, BitLocker, and Windows Update compliance; assist with incident triage and remediation.
  • Enforce least-privilege practices, device baselines, and data protection standards.
