About The Position

The IT Governance & Process Improvement Lead will assess and strengthen IT intake and governance processes for Tier 3–5 requests (small initiatives and incremental enhancements). While governance exists for large initiatives, Tier 3–5 requests are often minimally governed, resulting in limited scoping, estimation, prioritization, and business value definition. This engagement focuses on designing practical processes, governance, and tooling improvements to reduce delivery risk and improve alignment between demand and IT capacity. This will be a 2-month engagement that will be 30-40 hours per week. This position is located in Atlanta, GA in a hybrid working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating IT governance frameworks or PMOs.
  • Strong background in IT governance, including: Capacity planning, Schedule management, Quarterly / PI planning
  • Experience improving intake, demand management, and prioritization processes.
  • Ability to quickly assess environments and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess current IT intake and governance processes for Tier 3–5 requests.
  • Identify gaps related to scoping, estimation, prioritization, business value definition, and capacity planning.
  • Recommend improvements to governance processes, intake workflows, and supporting artifacts (e.g., request forms, templates).
  • Design pragmatic solutions that improve clarity, prioritization, and demand management without adding unnecessary overhead.
  • Support alignment between business demand and IT capacity across projects and incremental work.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to ensure recommendations are practical, scalable, and adoptable.
