About The Position

The IT Generalist plays a vital role in supporting enterprise IT, ensuring accurate asset management, and maintaining compliance with organizational standards. This position serves as an onsite escalation point for IT end-user services and assists with change management activities to ensure smooth, secure, and well-documented implementation of technology changes. This role spans multiple areas of Detroit Diesel Corporation’s IT environment, including systems software, hardware, end-user technology, governance, and software support. Responsibilities include evaluating existing and proposed IT services, confirming requirements, quantities, and pricing, and providing actionable input to support informed organizational decision-making. The IT Generalist also supports the implementation of IT compliance policies, standards, and processes. This includes monitoring adherence, assessing risks, reporting, and escalating compliance-related issues as needed. The position coordinates IT components of both internal and external audits and partners closely with internal stakeholders and third-party service providers to improve service delivery, manage change initiatives, and ensure technology solutions effectively meet business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (with a focus on IT), or 4 years of relevant experience in Lieu of degree
  • Detroit Diesel IT business services knowledge
  • IT technology and processes knowledge
  • Understanding of asset and configuration management
  • Familiarity with asset inventory monitoring, licensing allocation, and lifecycle management
  • Experience interpreting and implementing technology policies and requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology
  • The ability to work independently, investigate, and resolve IT challenges associated with data integrity, cost management, and compliance to IT standards.
  • Experience participating in large-scale technology change initiatives and collaborating with multiple service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Support asset management activities by maintaining accurate system records and data integrity for all IT assets.
  • Verify physical assets align with system data and associated billing.
  • Confirm end-user software requirements and update inventory data to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with audit-related tasks, ongoing compliance activities, and remediation efforts.
  • Serve as an onsite escalation point for IT end-user services, providing timely resolution of issues.
  • Participate in change management processes to ensure all changes are properly approved, documented, tested, and implemented.
