About The Position

Geeks On Site is hiring experienced field IT technicians to provide on-site computer repair and technology support to residential and small business customers. The main focus is computer troubleshooting, networking support, printer configuration, and general on-site IT service. Technicians may also receive POS installation and outdoor TV mounting assignments based on their experience.

This is a flexible, on-call independent contractor (1099) role with no guaranteed hours. Technicians set their availability and driving radius and can accept jobs that fit their route, skills, and schedule. IT and POS work pays $35 per hour for time on site. Outdoor TV mounting starts at $65 per mounted device, with the amount varying if a helper is required. A dispatch and technical support team is available to assist remotely.

After applying, candidates can expect an introductory recruiter call, electronic onboarding paperwork and tax forms, a mandatory background check before activation, and the opportunity to enter their availability in the technician portal. Jobs are dispatched based on proximity and skills.

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience in IT support or field service.
• Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Own required tools, including a laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, and RJ45 tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues.
• Resolve Wi-Fi, router, and wired network problems.
• Install and configure printers and scanners.
• Replace or upgrade hardware components.
• Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools.
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers.
• Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling.
• Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup.
