About The Position

The Field Support Technician is a hands-on IT role focused on supporting mill operations through reliable, onsite technology support. You’ll be the face of IT at mill sites—installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining critical systems that keep operations running safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, problem-solving, and working in industrial environments.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting with PCs, peripherals, Microsoft technologies, and networks
  • Comfortable working autonomously while aligned with a broader Field Support team
  • Clear, professional communicator who builds trust with onsite users
  • Able to work safely in manufacturing/industrial settings with frequent travel
  • 3–5 years in IT support or field support, with postsecondary technical education or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on IT support at mill sites, including hardware installs, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Perform basic physical IT work such as network drops, access point installs, and equipment moves
  • Support application rollouts, hardware refreshes, and onsite IT initiatives
  • Log all work accurately in the ticketing system and flag recurring issues or risks
  • Partner with internal IT teams and vendors, escalating complex issues when needed
