About The Position

The IT Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering on-site technical support across a broad range of IT infrastructure disciplines in the Greater Cincinnati, OH area. This role serves as the primary hands-on resource for break-fix support, structured and low/high voltage cabling, network infrastructure deployment, and technical project coordination. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in dynamic field environments and can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in IT field services, network installation, or a related technical role
  • Hands-on experience with structured cabling installation and certification
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
  • Proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and punch-down tools
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or variable conditions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface professionally with clients on-site

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification
  • BICSI Installer or Technician certification
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Ubiquiti, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing systems (ServiceNow, ConnectWise, Remedy)
  • Prior experience in a managed services or field deployment environment
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other end-user devices
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting for servers, switches, access points, and other network equipment
  • Execute equipment installations, moves, additions, and changes (IMACs) as directed
  • Maintain accurate service records and update ticketing systems in a timely manner
  • Install, terminate, and test low voltage systems including Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A copper cabling and fiber optic cable
  • Perform conduit work, cable tray installation, and pathway infrastructure as required
  • Coordinate with licensed electricians and facilities teams for high voltage work in compliance with NFPA 70E and local codes
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA standards for electrical and low voltage environments
  • Design, install, and certify structured cabling systems in commercial and enterprise environments
  • Terminate patch panels, wall plates, keystone jacks, and fiber enclosures
  • Conduct cable testing and certification using Fluke or equivalent tools; document test results
  • Ensure all cabling work meets ANSI/TIA-568 and EIA standards
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, managed switches, wireless access points, and firewalls
  • Assist with LAN/WAN infrastructure buildouts, data center installations, and rack-and-stack activities
  • Cable management and labeling in MDF/IDF rooms and data center environments
  • Coordinate with remote NOC or engineering teams to validate connectivity and performance
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for IT field projects and vendor engagements
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and site readiness for multi-site IT deployments
  • Communicate project status, issues, and escalations to project managers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including facilities, security, and third-party contractors
