About The Position

Procter & Gamble is seeking engineers interested in software, platform, or network engineering to apply innovative technologies to business problems. This internship offers the opportunity to work on large-scale projects with significant business impact. Potential work includes building data pipelines for machine learning models, developing consumer-facing IoT platforms, or creating serverless applications for various business needs. As a P&G IT Engineer intern, you will be a problem solver, comfortable with coding, debugging, and hands-on work. You will independently identify problems and solutions, continuously learn and develop technical knowledge, and possess a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals. Emphasis is placed on creating automated, testable, and scalable solutions, and collaborating effectively with team members and other departments, while also sharing knowledge with the internal engineering community.

Requirements

  • Must be available during the summer of 2027 for a 12-week internship from mid/late May through early August.
  • In the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical/IT field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills paired with experience in programming, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, etc. (Experience in a specific language is not required, will be expected to learn new languages).
  • Strong understanding of network hardware and infrastructure such as routers, hubs, servers, VPNs, and switches.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to teammates and non-technical colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • A history of solving hard problems with creative solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understand CI/CD and DevSecOps philosophies.

Responsibilities

  • Translate system requirements and user stories into scalable, maintainable application designs and high-quality code.
  • Develop, test, and validate solutions to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement and support code throughout the software development lifecycle, leveraging CI/CD tools for efficient integration and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with dependent systems and services.
  • Contribute to application architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Stay current with emerging software development practices, technologies, security standards, and vulnerability management.
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions that support business objectives.
  • Lead technology lifecycle planning, define technical requirements, validate new capabilities, and partner with suppliers to deliver effective solutions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for critical network issues and play a key role in strategic projects, collaborating with operations teams and IT stakeholders.
  • Manage cloud platforms using configuration management to deliver secure, scalable, and automated solutions.
  • Drive platform standards, resolve cloud and security incidents, and continuously improve engineering maturity across cloud services.
  • Lead innovation through proof-of-concept initiatives, evaluate third-party cloud solutions, collaborate with service providers and product teams.
  • Contribute to the Cloud Community of Practice to promote knowledge sharing, reusable code, and consistent standards across P&G.
  • Experience a subset of the above responsibilities as an intern.
