About The Position

This administrative role is a faith, operational, technological and instructional leader of the school. This position is required to convey the Church's message and to assist in carrying out the Church's mission. The administrator is required to uphold the standards of the Catholic Church in his/her day- to-day work and personal life. All employees are expected to be persons of integrity and must conduct themselves in an honest and open way, free from deception or corruption and in a manner consistent with the discipline and teachings of the Catholic Church. Employees are expected to follow rules of conduct that will protect the interests and safety of all, including the standards and policies set forth in the St. Carlo Acutis Academy Code of Conduct, Archdiocesan Policies and Guidelines, Employment Contract, Parent/Student Handbook, and Employee Handbook . The information technology director is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for the school to function optimally. This includes directing all IT operations to meet technical needs of the administrators, faculty, and students of St. Carlo Acutis Academy as well as the support and maintenance of hardware, software, services, and contracts comprising existing technical solutions and development of new technical solutions. The IT Director will assist with a variety of duties that require the expertise of software usage, device set up, registration needs, and training of faculty, staff, and families on necessary programs for program success.

Requirements

  • Master of Educational Technology, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in related educational field, preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic or Christian in good standing
  • Willing to be trained in all areas as needed.
  • Genuine love for Catholic education and a child’s ability to succeed.
  • Proficient knowledge of the instructional and accreditation process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
  • Experience working within a designated budget.
  • Extensive experience managing IT, with a proven track record of providing functional and progressive value to organizations through operational analysis, planning, service excellence, and project integration management, scheduling, and SIS system operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work orientation, and proven performance results.
  • Exhibits commitment to St. Carlo Acutis Academy mission and values.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively elicit information and convey technology content to technical and non-technical audiences in an easily understood, straight forward manner.
  • Excellent organization, decision making, and project management skills and experience.
  • Strong background in working with Microsoft, Google, and Apple platforms and applications preferably in the education space.
  • Experience in managing educational websites and social media accounts.
  • Willingness to work with fellow educators to create best practice for the online platform
  • The ability to train other teachers using digital platforms and create modules effectively
  • Demonstrate ability to think strategically and create vision, align curriculum, implement correct pedagogy for effective online teaching, while executing effective and smooth digital modules
  • Trouble shoot device issues as they arise with students and parents
  • Ensure that devices are maintained and parent/student device contracts are in compliance
  • Managing warranty issues with devices
  • Create and teach digital safety course grades K-12
  • Assist administration in procuring appropriate test proctoring applications
  • Willingness to teach or substitute teach as necessary
  • A Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church (MINISTERIAL).
  • A missionary disciple dedicated to the Proclamation of the Gospel (MINISTERIAL).
  • A servant-leader willing to serve others through fidelity and excellence.
  • Employees should be able to meet the physical and mental demands of all the aforesaid key tasks, skills, and attributes. Such requirements include, but are not limited to, the frequent lifting or moving of up to ten (10) pounds and the occasional lifting or moving of up to forty (40) pounds; sitting at a computer for long periods of time; traveling to attend meetings; and the occasional demands of driving long distances.

  • Participates in the Oklahoma Conference Catholic School Accrediting Association process and implements resulting recommendations.
  • Keeps teachers, staff, and school community informed through appropriate communication.
  • Facilitate regular communication with the school and families regarding technology plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay current in developments, materials, and community resources of educational technology.
  • Assist involved personnel with research and grant writing in the field of technology.
  • Ensures the integration of religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical dimensions across the curriculum.
  • Implements curriculum in light of 21 st Century needs of students.
  • Consistently adheres to the school’s code of conduct, code of ethics, and admissions as stated in school and archdiocesan policy for students and faculty.
  • Manage PowerSchool, the school's student information system and Canvas, the learning management system, and the Google Platform as well as various learning apps. This includes ongoing rostering, review, new system migration, and related projects.
  • Drive the ongoing development and evolution of the Schools' technology vision and implementation in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Evaluate and establish technology best practices, policies, and procedures, serving as a liaison between teachers, school staff, ministry leads and parish staff, brokering consensus on technology planning solutions.
  • Manage the school’s technology planning and budgeting, including execution and ongoing management of related purchases and expenses.
  • Oversee and maintain a robust and secure network infrastructure that supports the integration of technology in the school's academic program and throughout all areas of the parish.
  • Oversee and manage the growing number and use of devices for students and employees including the school's devices for instructional delivery and other strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure cyber-security and response planning for cyber incidents, including disaster recovery, knowledge of Go-Guardian device oversight management platform.
  • Serve as a trusted technology partner for key departments, including partnering with school and diocesan communications to strengthen the school's websites and digital communication tools.
  • Ensure that IT systems, projects, and third-party vendors are managed successfully and cost effectively.
  • Oversee research, purchasing, tracking, and implementation of necessary IT hardware and software.
  • Oversee telecommunications services for the school.
  • Review and adhere to the ST. CARLO ACUTIS ACADEMY HANDBOOK and all other school policies.
  • Execute all other duties as assigned.
