About The Position

This role will embody the spirit of 1 Corinthians 12, by serving and supporting the overall church mission, ministry and body through their expert knowledge of Information Technology. Christ Chapel’s Mission: “Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.” (Col 1:28-29).

Requirements

  • Must live a life worthy of the calling of Christ (Col 1:10, Eph 4:1-16)
  • Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in his daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Must be a person of prayer
  • Must have a demonstrated “heart for service”
  • Must be a joy to supervise (Hebrews 13:17)
  • Must be able to articulate a clear sense of calling to service through the local church
  • Would ideally sense a calling primarily toward support ministry of staff
  • The ideal candidate will have above-average intelligence (Rom 12; 1 Cor 12; Eph 4; 1
  • If a believer receives only one gift (1 Pet 4:10), then the ideal candidate would have the spiritual gift of service
  • Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have at least 5 years of IT experience
  • Must have at least 5 years of team leadership experience
  • Must be an active member of a church
  • Must believe that spiritual maturity takes place within biblical community
  • Working knowledge of Mac’s and how they interface with network
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and user applications
  • A track record of initiative and creativity
  • A track record as an encourager, grace-giver and permission-giver
  • A track record of doing well in an inter-generational environment

  • Required to work on Sundays to help support the worship service and any ministries who run into issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a bachelor’s and/or master’s in computer science.
  • Additional IT related certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and managing the Information Technology team which consists of system engineers, helpdesk, and church database employees.
  • Responsible for researching and recommending technology initiatives that support and improve the effectiveness in accomplishing our church vision and mission.
  • Responsible for maintaining systems and support that is sustainable across our multi-campus church model.
  • Responsible to maintain all aspects of the church technology infrastructure and systems.
  • Responsible to manage church data, storage, servers, software, and licensing.
  • Responsible for providing quick resolution to all technical issues.
  • Responsible for setting the culture of the Information Technology ministry team and how it partners with other church ministry teams.
  • Coordinate regularly with ministries to ensure the technical systems and processes are providing smooth and efficient support of the ministry needs.
  • Collaborate with the ministries and worship experience team to ensure the church technology supports the overall Sunday worship strategy.
  • Manage the IT Operating Budget and any other technology budgets for additional church projects.
  • Will be responsible to review and negotiate our contracts and vendor relationships to determine any cost saving methods or better utilization of our church service agreements.
  • Maintain record of all computer, hardware, and equipment inventory for the church.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on the management of technology capital assets.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on management of future replacement of the various IT equipment, hardware, and assets.
  • Will be responsible for monitoring risk, exposure and inefficiencies of the church systems and network as well as make recommendations to resolve any issues.
  • Set and educate the staff on technology best practices regarding cybersecurity, and technology risk to maintain safety and security of the church IT infrastructure
  • Maintain technology compliance requirements such as PCI compliance and data storage.
  • Work to maintain standards needed for the church to maintain sufficient cyber liability coverage.
  • Collaborate with ministries on their licenses, software and programs to ensure they do not expose significant risk to the church.
  • Ensure the helpdesk is providing adequate and timely support to the ministries.
  • Review helpdesk inquiries to determine any recurring problems or areas that might need additional education.
  • Stay up to date on the church database requirements and how to support the ministries in utilization of the database.
  • Will be responsible for maintain internet, phone, printer and postage services for all church locations.
