About The Position

We are looking for a Director, IT Business Systems, to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. Your Responsibilities: The Director of Business Systems provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Business Systems department, including Engineering IT, Digital Transformation, and IT Security (Cybersecurity). This role is accountable for driving digital transformation, capability expansion, and cybersecurity initiatives that enhance operational performance, reliability, safety, and security while ensuring alignment between enterprise IT and operational environments. The Director will lead modernization of systems and architectures, and establish robust governance, cybersecurity, and lifecycle management practices to support current and future business objectives. Requirements

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Operational Technology (OT), Engineering IT, or industrial systems, including leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation initiatives in industrial or operational environments
  • Experience leading Senior Managers and working on highly confidential material
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems (ICS) and architectures
  • Hands-on knowledge of cybersecurity principles and frameworks
  • Proven ability to bridge technical and business leadership
  • Ability to travel, approx. 5%

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities of the internal and external teams assigned to development projects within the IT project portfolio
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams consisting of engineers, architects, cybersecurity specialists, and system administrators
  • Collaborates with business management in planning of development demand and resources as solution projects are planned for and execute
  • Establishes standards, strategies, and procedures across the development lifecycle in the areas of systems integration and testing
  • Define KPIs and performance metrics for availability, security posture, and operational impact.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for business system failures or cybersecurity incidents
  • Develop and manage the operating and capital budgets
  • Evaluate, select, and manage the ERP vendor relationship and enterprise contract
  • Ensures solutions adhere to architectural and quality standards throughout the development lifecycle
  • Ensures solutions meet or exceed expectations of business requirements and capabilities
  • Lead initiatives involving Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, IIoT, advanced analytics, digital twins, and automation modernization.
  • Own the cybersecurity strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT security policies while addressing business-specific risks
  • Implement and maintain security frameworks and standards (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-171, ISO 27001)
  • Lead risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response planning, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with IT to design secure network architectures, remote access solutions, and identity management for business system environments
  • Ensure regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements are met across systems
  • Guide the Digital Transformation roadmap and suggest improvements to current infrastructure and machine tools
