About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Student Assistant works in conjunction with Campus IT Staff on the ServiceNow Enterprise Application platform. Assist with maintaining, designing, and integrating a variety workflows and scripting in ServiceNow, as required. Knowledge and skills in applications programming and systems analysis and related programming support functions is a prerequisite. Perform other duties as assigned or assist staff directly with specific projects on demand.

Requirements

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
  • Follow oral instructions.
  • Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
  • Solid understanding of web database development, design and implementation, and scripting.
  • Good problem solving skills with strong analytical ability over business and technical requirements and issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skill with ability to work and communicate well with all levels of personnel with a good customer oriented mindset.
  • Must be diligent, highly-motivated, independent and detail-oriented.
  • Able to start work immediately or within short notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in ASP .NET, VB.NET, C#, Javascript and SQL database design and implementation preferred.
  • Prefer at least 3 semesters remaining at CSUF due to the nature of training on and assimilating campus specific applications and development.
  • Freshman or Sophomore year preferred.
  • Desired majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Systems & Decision Sciences (ISDS).
