IT Data Analytics Specialist

Vertiv Group•Anderson, SC

About The Position

The Plant Level MES Analyst is the dedicated on-site IT Supply Chain and MES resource for assigned manufacturing plants. The role combines hands-on SCADA/Ignition development and solution architecture with knowledge of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Oracle EBS integration to deliver digital factory implementations at plant level. The analyst is the primary IT interface for shop-floor technology, supporting deployments and ongoing operations in coordination with Operations, ME/AME, vendors, contractors, and IT Infrastructure teams. The role executes and supports Ignition MES deployments, including configuration, upgrades, patches, enhancements, and applicable Brick-to-Ignition transitions. It develops and maintains plant-level SCADA/Ignition solutions and architecture, including HMI screens, tags, alarms, historical data, dashboards, gateway and module configuration, device connectivity, edge computing, scripting, and industrial communication protocols. The analyst leads plant-level IT deployment and ongoing management of WMS and TMS applications, including configuration, warehouse and transport workflows, integration testing, cutover, go-live support, availability, and performance. The role also executes and maintains bi-directional Oracle EBS integrations with Ignition MES, WMS, and TMS, supporting reliable data exchange for production, inventory, orders, shipping, and related processes. The position coordinates shop-floor deployments, infrastructure readiness, vendor and contractor activities, and user training. It documents plant-specific configurations, integration mappings, operating procedures, and runbooks, and provides deployment status updates to the regional MES Specialist and IT Ops BRM.

  • Hands-on proficiency with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, including Python/Jython scripting, tag configuration, Vision and Perspective HMI/SCADA development, alarming, historical data logging, and dashboard creation.
  • Experience designing plant-level Ignition gateway architecture, selecting modules, connecting devices such as PLCs, sensors, and barcode readers, configuring edge computing, and designing data flows to enterprise standards.
  • Hands-on experience deploying Oracle WMS, Oracle TMS, or equivalent systems, including configuration, warehouse or transport setup, workflow design, integration testing, cutover, and go-live support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WMS/TMS systems and platforms; related equipment such as scanners, RF devices, label printers, conveyors, and AS/RS; operating models such as 3PL, in-house, cross-dock, and hub-and-spoke; applications such as WCS, YMS, fleet management, and EDI/ASN; and server connectivity, databases, APIs, middleware, networks, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Good knowledge of APS, including capacity scheduling, demand/supply planning, constraint-based optimization, and how APS schedules drive MES, WMS, and TMS execution; experience integrating APS with Oracle EBS and execution systems.
  • Hands-on experience integrating WMS, TMS, and Ignition MES with Oracle EBS for inventory synchronization, order management, shipping confirmations, production reporting, and cost accounting through APIs, database connectors, or middleware.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, and warehouse/logistics workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience executing system deployments at plant or warehouse level.
