IT Data Analytics Specialist

Vertiv•Anderson, SC

About The Position

The Plant Level MES Analyst is the dedicated on-ground IT Supply Chain and MES resource for assigned manufacturing plants. The role combines hands-on SCADA/Ignition development and solution architecture with knowledge of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to deliver Digital Factory implementations at plant level. It serves as the primary IT interface for shop-floor technology, driving Ignition MES deployments, WMS/TMS go-lives, APS enhancements and maintenance, and Oracle EBS integration in coordination with Operations, ME/AME, vendors, and IT Infrastructure teams. The role deploys and supports Ignition MES, develops and maintains plant-level SCADA/Ignition solutions, designs Ignition architecture, and configures industrial communication protocols and integrations. It leads plant-level IT deployments and operational management for WMS and TMS, including system configuration, workflows, connectivity, availability, performance, and user access. It also ensures bidirectional integration between Ignition MES, WMS, TMS, and Oracle EBS; coordinates shop-floor deployment and infrastructure readiness; supports training and adoption; and documents plant configurations, mappings, procedures, and runbooks. The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principles and Behaviors to help execute its Strategic Priorities.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing IT, MES, WMS, TMS, or industrial automation within a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform, including Python/Jython scripting, tag configuration, Vision and Perspective HMI/SCADA development, alarming, historical data logging, and real-time dashboards.
  • Experience designing plant-level Ignition gateway architecture, selecting modules, connecting devices such as PLCs, sensors, and barcode readers, configuring edge computing, and designing data flows aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Hands-on experience deploying Oracle WMS, Oracle TMS, or equivalent systems, including configuration, warehouse or transport setup, workflow design, integration testing, cutover, and go-live support.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WMS/TMS systems and comparable platforms; related equipment such as scanners, RF devices, label printers, conveyors, and AS/RS; operating models such as 3PL, in-house, cross-dock, and hub-and-spoke; applications such as WCS, YMS, fleet management, and EDI/ASN; and server connectivity including databases, APIs, middleware, networks/firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Good knowledge of APS, including capacity scheduling, demand/supply planning, constraint-based optimization, and how production and shipment schedules drive execution in MES, WMS, and TMS; experience integrating APS with Oracle EBS and shop-floor or warehouse execution layers.
  • Hands-on experience integrating WMS, TMS, and Ignition MES with Oracle EBS for inventory synchronization, order management, shipping confirmations, production reporting, and cost accounting through APIs, database connectors, or middleware.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, and warehouse/logistics workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience executing system deployments at plant or warehouse level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ignition MES modules such as OEE, Downtime Tracking, Production Scheduling, and Track & Trace.
  • Knowledge of MQTT/Sparkplug B and IIoT protocols for shop-floor data acquisition.
  • Familiarity with QMS deployment and quality process automation.
  • Experience with CyberPlan or similar APS tools for supply chain planning integration.
  • Knowledge of PLC/SCADA communication protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Experience with the Brick MES platform or legacy MES.
  • Background in discrete manufacturing, HVAC, industrial, or automotive sectors.
  • Inductive Automation Ignition Core or Gold certifications.
  • Oracle WMS/TMS implementation experience or certifications.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Multilingual capability.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and configure Ignition MES deployments at assigned plants according to global methodology, and support Brick-to-Ignition transitions at applicable EMEA plants.
