About The Position

Design and execute solutions to support business processes, communication and file management in various applications and platforms and provide input for adoption plans, strategic discussions and site architecture to make optimal use of the tools set owned by the City. This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work with some days working remotely and some days working in the office. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Information Management, including coursework in information architecture, taxonomy and classification, content management systems administration and search management, or equivalent
  • Six years of directly related experience in digital information management using enterprise-class content management and document management systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of specific collaboration systems such as: SharePoint deployment architectures, especially hybrid Office 365 and dedicated environments; SharePoint central administration, access management, STSADM, PowerShell admin modules, event log troubleshooting, search administration and troubleshooting; Power Apps deployment architectures, especially multi-environment Microsoft 365 and Dataverse-backed solutions; Canvas and model-driven app development, Dataverse schema management, Power Fx troubleshooting, connector and gateway configuration, solution export/import and lifecycle management, environment administration, integration troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • PowerShell, CSOM, REST, and SP Services.
  • HTML, CSS. and JavaScript
  • Debugging skills and techniques across all knowledge areas.
  • Good knowledge of IT Service Management concepts such as incident, change and problem management.
  • Good knowledge of security concepts such as encryption and security zones.
  • Considerable knowledge of basic operation of websites, and internet application servers such as IIS
  • Strong competency in software development processes and scripting/programming languages to effectively communicate custom development needs.
  • Strong effective oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with team to develop solutions using the set of tools available.
  • Self-manage time according to prioritized tasks; ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to objectively compare applications and software to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical services and maintenance for collaboration systems and infrastructure. These systems include but are not limited to Microsoft SharePoint and TerminalFour.
  • Architect the SharePoint search experience including creation of custom search result templates, manage properties and search centers.
  • Design and implement search driven applications based on business requirements.
  • Design, implement, monitor and improve the search experience within collaborative platforms.
  • Take a lead role in the development of taxonomy and metadata configuration best practices and manage metadata configuration and search optimization for assigned systems.
  • Lead the development of security configuration best practices and manage security configuration and permissions for assigned systems.
  • Architect and implement advanced solutions to solve business issues using the City of Minneapolis collaboration tool set.
  • Architect and implement integration with line of business systems.
  • Participate in integration and customization solution projects as a high level technical SME for a collaboration platform, including understanding PowerShell, CSOM, REST, and SP Services.
  • Provide advanced technical services and maintenance for collaboration systems and infrastructure. These systems include but are not limited to SharePoint Online.
  • Monitor and proactively address overall system health and functionality, for example, storage consumption and growth, and performance metrics such as search optimization, search usage and load times.
  • Monitor and respond to system events and reported break/fix incidents; troubleshoot and diagnose problems, remediate to restore system availability and performance as required.
  • Provide support escalation for other members of the collaboration team to resolve user-reported issues.
  • Proactively track incidents over time to identify opportunities for system optimization and/or user training.
  • Provide input for, adhere to, and support IT Governance plans.
  • Implement and manage compliance monitoring processes and audit reporting.
  • Work with other members of the Collaboration team to cross train on responsibilities.
