About The Position

Idaho Power is looking for an IT Client Service Specialist I or II to join their Information Technology team in Boise, Idaho. This role is critical in supporting the communities served by Idaho Power by ensuring the safe, reliable, and affordable energy they depend on. The position offers flexible schedules and the opportunity to work remotely up to 40%. The IT Client Services Specialist acts as the main contact for employees needing technical assistance, diagnosing, resolving, and managing technical issues and service requests. They provide support for various technologies including hardware, software, operating systems, applications, networks, peripherals, remote access, and mobile devices. The role involves documenting and categorizing incidents, applying solutions, and using communication tools to restore service efficiently. Depending on experience, the role may involve advanced troubleshooting and coordination with other support teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (for Specialist I)
  • 1 year experience providing technical support or customer service via phone in a corporate enterprise environment (for Specialist I)
  • Associates degree or technical vocational certification specializing in information technology OR Equivalent work experience (for Specialist II)
  • 3 years of experience providing technical support via phone in a corporate enterprise environment (for Specialist II)
  • Knowledge of PC concepts, principles, maintenance, and operations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work with others professionally and courteously
  • Ability to convey ideas logically and professionally
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose technical problems using documentation, tools, and knowledge database
  • Ability to multitask effectively, remain detail oriented, and maintain composure in a fast-paced IT environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or technical vocational certification specializing in information technology or equivalent work experience (for Specialist I)
  • Associates degree or technical vocation certification specializing in computer science, computer information systems, electronics, or an equivalent information technology field (for Specialist II)
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees seeking technical support.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and manage incidents and service requests.
  • Provide support across a range of technologies including hardware, software, operating systems, applications, networks, peripherals, remote access, and mobile devices.
  • Document and categorize incidents.
  • Apply appropriate solutions to technical issues.
  • Use phone, email, and remote support tools to restore service efficiently.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting (depending on experience and level).
  • Determine final call categorization (depending on experience and level).
  • Route or coordinate with second-level support teams in accordance with IT Service Desk procedures (depending on experience and level).
