About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of interoperability solutions across healthcare systems, applications, and platforms. The individual will ensure seamless and secure data exchange between disparate systems utilizing industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, CDA, X12, APIs, and related integration technologies. The consultant will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and clients to deliver interoperability solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards. In addition to serving as an Interoperability Consultant, this individual will act as a key IT liaison between internal business partners, external clients, vendors, and technology teams. The role requires the ability to bridge business and technical requirements, facilitate effective communication across stakeholders, and drive alignment on strategic technology initiatives. This position requires a deep understanding of eviCore's proprietary Utilization Management (UM) platform and associated business processes. The successful candidate will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the UM application, providing technical leadership, consultation, and guidance for all interoperability and integration efforts involving the platform. Expertise in utilization management workflows, healthcare operations, system integrations, and data exchange processes is essential.

Requirements

  • Seamless and secure data exchange between disparate systems utilizing industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, CDA, X12, APIs, and related integration technologies.
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Delivery of interoperability solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Experience with integration platforms and interface engines, including technologies such as Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, and API-based integrations.
  • Development of scalable and secure integration architectures.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders during implementation and integration projects.
  • Leading discovery sessions, gathering business and technical requirements, and translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Building strong relationships with business partners, technology teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Providing ongoing consultation and guidance on interoperability strategies and healthcare technology solutions.
  • Designing, developing, testing, and supporting interfaces between EHR systems, Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), utilization management platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving interoperability and data exchange issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, security standards, and healthcare industry regulations.
  • Supporting production environments and providing post-implementation technical assistance.
  • Managing project timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, workflow diagrams, training materials, and support resources.
  • Providing knowledge transfer and training to internal teams and business users.
  • Ensuring adherence to healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 v2/v3, FHIR, CDA, X12, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Staying informed of emerging healthcare interoperability regulations, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Promoting best practices for data governance, security, privacy, and system interoperability.
  • Acting as a key IT liaison between internal business partners, external clients, vendors, and technology teams.
  • Bridging business and technical requirements, facilitating effective communication across stakeholders, and driving alignment on strategic technology initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of eviCore's proprietary Utilization Management (UM) platform and associated business processes.
