About The Position

This is a 6-month contract position for an IT Business Manager at a Japanese Financial Service company. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the NYC office. The primary focus is to support Technology leadership in financial planning, workforce management, reporting, and governance. The successful candidate will maintain financial forecasts, analyze budgets and performance, ensure financial reporting accuracy, prepare executive-level reports, coordinate leadership meetings, manage workforce reporting, track vendor contracts, and support technology portfolio planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–7 years of experience in Technology Business Management, IT Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting senior Technology leadership.
  • Experience managing operational budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of technology organizations and IT operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a large enterprise or complex matrix organization.
  • Strong experience managing operational budgets and financial planning.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and technology organizations.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, take initiative, and drive improvements independently.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior leadership.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Technology leadership to support financial planning, workforce management, reporting, and governance across the Technology organization.
  • Maintain rolling financial forecasts by integrating workforce changes, project timelines, vendor activities, and contract milestones.
  • Analyze budgets, financial performance, and variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Ensure the accuracy of budgets, cost centers, funding information, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for Technology leadership.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, governance activities, agendas, and follow-up action items.
  • Maintain workforce reporting, including headcount, organizational changes, onboarding, offboarding, and staffing updates.
  • Coordinate with HR and cross-functional stakeholders on workforce planning and operational initiatives.
  • Track vendor contracts, contractor data, renewals, and associated financial impacts.
  • Support technology portfolio planning by monitoring project timelines, dependencies, budgets, and resource allocations.
