About The Position

This is a full-time, fully remote IT Business Analyst position supporting Apptio TBM capabilities. The role involves configuration, maintenance, enhancements, issue resolution, data management, and quality controls for Apptio Cost Transparency, Planning, TBM Studio, and related TBM functions. The analyst will also support Benchmarking & Survey Management activities, including data collection, validation, analysis, and submission. A key part of the role is working with IT consultancy and business units to understand business needs and translate them into functional requirements. This includes conducting interviews, creating business process mappings, and applying IT and business knowledge to solve technology-related business problems. The position may also involve business relationship management, strategy, planning, and portfolio/demand management, while maintaining productive relationships with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in information systems that include business applications analysis.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and developing models in Apptio Technology Business Management (TBM) Studio.
  • Working knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM) principles and the ability to support Apptio configuration and support solution design activities.
  • Demonstrated Technology Business Management (TBM) and Apptio experience, including the ability to support configuration, cost transparency, planning, reporting, and related financial management activities.
  • Ability to assess Apptio enhancements, AI insights, automation, and platform features for TBM process improvements.
  • Ability to interpret, compare, and summarize benchmark and survey results, including external industry benchmarks and organizational survey submissions, to support insights, reporting, and reputation-related metrics.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively across the organization with individual contributors to senior levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the business direction and goals and their potential implications in terms of the IT systems required to support them.
  • Attention to detail in developing the associated functional requirements, risk assessments, cost estimates and plans and tracking the delivery of approved projects.
  • Ability to write effective presentations and documentation in order to transfer knowledge to the project team in a timely manner.
  • Excellent team player with ability to share knowledge, document processes, support platform enablement, and help others apply TBM and Apptio best practices consistently.
  • Excellent team player with ability to mentor junior team members and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, while remaining current with the latest technologies and business processes.
  • Strong ability to exercise judgment and creativity in analyzing and solving unusual complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex problems, escalating highly complex or ambiguous issues as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Support Apptio Cost Transparency, Planning, TBM Studio, and related TBM capabilities through configuration, maintenance, enhancements, issue resolution, data management, and quality controls.
  • Support Benchmarking & Survey Management activities, including collection, validation, analysis, and timely submission of benchmark and survey data to inform leadership reporting and decision-making.
  • Works with IT consultancy and business units to develop and understand the business case and business requirements to solve for technology related business problems.
  • Conducts detailed interview sessions with business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and technical resources to define and construct effective functional requirements.
  • Creates easy to use business process mappings of complex systems and workflows to show complete interdependencies between entities.
  • Applies IT and business knowledge and experience to formulate business requirements to solve a business problem.
  • May assist in business relationship management, business strategy and planning, portfolio/demand management.
  • Maintains productive relationships with peers and management in IT and the business function, and external partners.
