About The Position

The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying requirements, and proposing software solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders, gathering and documenting business requirements, and ensuring that the application and development team understands and implements these requirements accurately. The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between the business and technical teams, ensuring that NHRS business goals are met through optimized software solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or comparable degree.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Proficiency with business analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel and SQL for data extraction, modeling, analysis, cleaning and validation.
  • Proficiency with process modeling tools like Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart to build understanding, communicate current and future workflows and analyze efficiencies.
  • Ability to create clear, compelling decks using PowerPoint or similar software.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, including requirements gathering, process modeling, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.

  • Analyze accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (Constantly).
  • Requires computer responsibility which involves extensive use of keyboard, mouse and monitor, and repeat motions that include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers (Constantly).

  • Experience within a pension system or in the financial services industry.
  • Skilled use of BI tools like Power BI or Tableau for data analysis and reporting.
  • API literacy.
  • Experience in Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with relevant pension or financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with pension administration systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
