University Information Technology Services (UITS) is the University of Arizona’s central technology organization. UITS invites applicants for the IT Business Analyst I position. The IT Business Analyst I supports business analysis activities within Endpoint Management and reports to the IT Product Manager. This entry-level role helps gather, document, and organize business and functional requirements for hardware fulfillment and endpoint lifecycle services. This position works under guidance to support analysis efforts that improve procurement, inventory tracking, device deployment, and lifecycle processes. This position also contributes to workflow documentation, supports system enhancements, validates data, and assists with testing activities. The position operates in a collaborative, product-focused environment that emphasizes learning, process documentation, stakeholder support, and continuous improvement. This role provides foundational experience in business analysis, institutional systems, and IT service delivery within a higher education setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • Basic understanding of business analysis principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and fulfill standard and custom hardware requests in a timely, customer-focused manner.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end users throughout the hardware purchasing and fulfillment lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Support teams and external vendors to support procurement, fulfillment, and issue resolution activities.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory records and ensure lifecycle activities are documented to support compliance, auditing, and operational reporting.
  • Document and maintain current-state business processes related to purchasing, inventory management, and endpoint lifecycle operations.
  • Develop and update workflow diagrams, process maps, standard operating procedures, and related documentation.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, documentation gaps, or operational issues and escalate findings to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Support consistency and accuracy in documentation standards and operational practices across the team.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational support groups.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, supporting materials, meeting notes, and follow-up action items.
  • Respond to routine stakeholder inquiries and provide operational support related to processes, systems, and services.
  • Escalate complex issues or unresolved concerns to senior analysts or leadership while developing an understanding of stakeholder needs and business operations.
  • Perform data validation activities related to IT assets, inventory, and purchasing records.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of operational reports, dashboards, and data summaries for departmental use.
  • Identify, document, and communicate data discrepancies or inconsistencies to appropriate team members.
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity across systems, records, and reporting tools to support informed operational decision-making.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for system updates, process improvements, and technology implementations.
  • Execute test cases, document results, and track identified issues or defects through resolution.
  • Validate system changes against documented business requirements and operational expectations.
  • Support implementation readiness activities, including documentation updates, process communication, and coordination tasks.
