About The Position

Evaluates controls and supporting evidence, documents clear and supportable results, and raises exceptions and emerging risks to the Senior IT Auditor or Manager. The role performs audit procedures such as walkthroughs, control assessments, population validation, sample selection, evidence inspection, reperformance, and follow-up testing. It tests controls across operational cybersecurity and data-risk areas, including identity and access management, network and cloud security, security operations, vulnerability management, data protection and privacy, and application security. For cloud audits, the role consults relevant provider security guidance alongside company policies, standards, and audit criteria. The IT Auditor assesses evidence quality, documents procedures and results in traceable workpapers, participates in client discussions, analyzes exceptions, and supports issue development, reporting, issue validation, and examination materials. The role may use audit tools and data analysis techniques to validate populations, identify anomalies, or improve testing coverage, and incorporates review comments in accordance with Internal Audit quality standards.

  • Hands-on operational audit testing in at least one target profile: IAM/PAM, including CyberArk, Active Directory, or firewall/network controls; or cloud security/WAF, SIEM/XDR/SOAR, DLP, encryption/key management, or vulnerability evidence. Experience limited to general ITGC testing is insufficient; comparable tools are acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of risk-based audit testing, evidence evaluation, sampling, workpaper documentation, and communicating exceptions.
  • Familiarity with official security guidance for Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, including Azure network security best practices, the AWS Well-Architected Security Pillar, and Google Cloud Well-Architected security guidance; ability to apply relevant guidance during audit testing.
  • Ability to manage assigned testing, meet deadlines, and raise questions or concerns promptly.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain evidence needs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on exposure to cloud environments or cloud security controls.
  • CISA or another relevant certification, or active progress toward one.
  • Relevant IT or cybersecurity coursework, professional training, or hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with AuditBoard, Power BI, ServiceNow, Jira, or SailPoint.

  • Inspect and test technical and architecture evidence, including configurations, access records, scan results, change records, logs, encryption, certificates, and documented exceptions in the assigned specialty.
  • For audits involving cloud environments, consult relevant cloud-provider security guidance to inform walkthroughs and testing, alongside company policies, standards, and audit criteria.
  • Evaluate whether evidence is complete, reliable, relevant to the control, and consistent with the control objective; identify gaps or contradictions and raise them promptly.
  • Document procedures, evidence reviewed, sample details, results, exceptions, and conclusions in organized, traceable workpapers.
  • Participate in walkthroughs and client discussions; explain evidence requests and testing questions clearly and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Analyze exceptions and support assessment of their cause, impact, extent, and potential compensating controls.
