IT Budget Analysts are responsible for coordinating, analyzing, developing, preparing, inputting, and supporting operating (expense) and capital budgets, financial forecasts and cost management activities for the Information Technology (IT) organization. Incumbents in this position maintain and provide budget worksheets, supply reporting information, conduct budget research activities, and provide budget assistance to other individuals in the organization. Incumbents also prepare progress reports regarding the activities performed in the IT budget section. This role requires frequent use and application of technical principles, theories, concepts and techniques, such as running monthly standards while also completing ad hoc budget analysis and reporting. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under general supervision, following established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results, or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
