About The Position

Our client is looking for an IT Asset Manager to assist internal employees. Our client is a third-party subservice company focused on providing our clients and their customers with a best-in-class mortgage experience. This is a contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion, based out of Fort Mill, SC. The role involves managing inventory and assets for approximately 800 people, including laptops, thin clients, and all IT hard assets. The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, determining when new equipment needs to be ordered, and ensuring the proper functioning of IT infrastructure such as UPS systems and network closet temperatures. This role also includes shipping and receiving IT assets, maintaining records of who has which equipment, managing network printers and copiers, performing firmware updates, and assisting with general IT support tasks like sending out equipment. A strong understanding of ITIL standards for asset management is required, as is the ability to work with finance departments for equipment replacement. Experience with Aegis Apricorn external hard drives is a plus. The company utilizes Evolve IP for data center services.

Requirements

Intermediate Level experience in IT Asset Management.
Ability to manage inventory and assets for approximately 800 people.
Proficiency in tracking IT hard assets, including laptops and thin clients.
Understanding of IT infrastructure components like UPS systems and network closet environmental controls.
Experience with shipping and receiving IT equipment.
Knowledge of asset tracking and allocation.
Familiarity with maintaining and servicing network printers and copiers.
Experience with running firmware updates.
Strong inventory management skills.
Willingness to perform manual tasks like shipping and handling equipment requests.
Understanding of ITIL standards for asset management.
Experience working with finance departments for asset replacement.
Familiarity with Aegis Apricorn external hard drives.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory and assets for laptops, thin clients, and all IT hard assets for 800 people.
Answer questions regarding inventory status and future ordering needs for laptops.
Ensure the facility's IT infrastructure, including UPS systems, is in good working order and develop contingency plans for power outages.
Monitor and maintain optimal temperature levels in network closets (e.g., 65 degrees).
Handle shipping and receiving of laptops and IT assets.
Track the allocation of laptops and monitors to employees.
Maintain records of network printers and copiers, ensuring they are serviced.
Perform firmware updates on IT equipment.
Conduct inventory management, including working with finance to replace assets like laptops.
Perform 'grunt work' such as shipping equipment when needed, for example, sending a box and shipping label for a new headset.
Understand and apply ITIL standards for asset management.
Manage Aegis Apricorn external hard drives.
