About The Position

Provides technical and thought leadership in championing the Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) and is responsible for setting the architectural direction, design and implementation approaches for the company's data, analytics, and intelligence platforms. Architects cutting-edge, innovative intelligence solutions leveraging Databricks, AI/ML and BI, and creates, evaluates and implements plans and design proposals for high impact solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods, considering key factors such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), practicality, technical limitations and criticality. Drives the maturity, enablement and adoption of the EDH ecosystem—advancing self-service capabilities and building a community of practice that delivers best practices and emerging trends to the broader organization. This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week). This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of IT-specific work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of IT-specific work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in IT-related field.
  • Intricate, hands-on knowledge of the semiconductor industry and its data and business processes.
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Tableau and/or Power BI, and AI/ML solution development.

Responsibilities

  • Drives thought leadership in championing the Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) across various business functions, influencing adoption and aligning data strategy with business objectives.
  • Architects cutting-edge and innovative intelligence solutions leveraging Databricks, AI/ML and BI to solve complex, highly impactful business problems.
  • Drives the maturity and enablement of the EDH ecosystem through a community of practice, delivering best practices and emerging industry trends to internal stakeholders.
  • Drives the maturity of self-service enablement and adoption, empowering business functions to derive value from data independently.
  • Executes tasks and makes decisions with large impact and scope, and provides oversight when needed to drive multiple, highly complex cross-organizational projects and other assignments forward.
  • Drives collaboration with internal and external leaders across IT, and other senior leaders to solve complex problems.
  • Proactively identifies problems, aligns resource plans with business objectives, and oversees the planning, coordination, and assignment of talent to accomplish priorities and deadlines, and to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Conducts autonomous research and learning, and testing of new IT technology to develop new processes, applications, or solutions, and presents detailed demonstrations or proof of concepts to senior leaders across the organization.
  • Engages with business partners cross-functionally (e.g., testing group, product group, customers) to develop and execute a plan and system design for a large initiative.
  • Practices self-leadership and promotes learning in others by building relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and other industry leaders.
  • Seeks out and capitalizes on improvement opportunities, often at a level that affects cross-functional teams and business partners internally and externally to the organization, and takes ownership of high priority issues or risks, as appropriate.
  • Brings forth innovative solutions for complex issues in IT ecosystems by leveraging cross-functional and industry contacts, and troubleshoots problems of any complexity.
  • Engages business partners and communicates across the organization to resolve large scale system/program conflicts and challenges.
  • Displays thought leadership and identifies the state of system solutions, approaches, or other technical information and compares against industry standards to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Presents end-to-end solutions within and outside of project team to ensure project completion, and influences decision making process.
  • Considers all aspects as lead of a design by determining which teams should get involved and which tests need to be conducted, reviewing risk areas and impact, and highlighting the right set of issues to share with senior leadership and the entire team.
