About The Position

Saputo is seeking an IT Architect for an existing opportunity within our organization. The IT Architect, Enterprise Architecture is an expert in the design, development, and support of enterprise-wide processes & solutions. This role plays a dynamic part in supporting both IT and global business requirements. The IT Architect, Enterprise Architecture will work closely and across multiple functional teams to ensure designed solutions integrate well within and across business process areas. The role involves designing scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions that enable digital transformation and operational excellence, while applying leading practices and compliance with architectural standards, architecture principles & framework (i.e., TOGAF), and maintaining roadmaps across applications, data, infrastructure, and security domains. This individual will translate business requirements into solution designs, develop, review, and support options identified during gap analysis, and collaborate with the business in prioritizing requirements to achieve end-state objectives. This person will possess a broad understanding of the ERP (SAP) and non-ERP applications landscape and the future application roadmap for Saputo. A strategic thinker, this person understands the importance of connecting different process areas and can collaborate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to design solutions aligned with Enterprise Architecture principles.
  • Proven ability ensuring solutions are scalable, using sound integration with security compliance.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage senior executives and technical teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic approach to delivering results.
  • Proven ability delivering solution architecture documents
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • TOGAF, Zachman, or similar Enterprise Architecture certification strongly preferred.
  • Cloud certification in Microsoft Azure is an asset.
  • Certifications in ITIL and COBIT would be highly beneficial
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in enterprise architecture IT roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, integration technologies, and modern application architectures.
  • Proven track record in developing architecture governance frameworks and standards.
  • Expertise in architecture domains: Application, Data, Infrastructure, and Security.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing, APIs, microservices, and containerization.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities with demonstrated ability to lead by example in a hands-on technical environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in business terms & work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Change management and organizational influence skills.
  • High degree of initiative, accountability, and ownership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the dairy or broader manufacturing CPG industry.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and blockchain.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Multilingual (English required; French is an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Architecture with developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture vision, principles, and standards to guide technology decisions.
  • Take ownership of maintaining multi-year architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy and IT priorities.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders, including Cyber Security to ensure architecture supports innovation, agility, and cost optimization.
  • Govern solution designs to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture principles and security requirements.
  • Help to drive adoption of modern architecture practices such as cloud-native, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for executive stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology strategy and investment decisions.
  • Use KPIs in place to measure architecture effectiveness (e.g., reuse rate, compliance score, technical debt reduction) with an eye towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data architecture supports analytics, AI, and regulatory needs.
  • Ensure architecture decisions comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy, cybersecurity frameworks).
  • Proactively identify architectural risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Keeping up to date on SAP leading practices and developments.
