About The Position

Brinks Home is seeking an IT Application Senior Developer to lead the design, development, and support of business applications serving the customer order, installation, and monitoring journey. The role provides technical and architectural leadership while building and maintaining .NET applications, APIs, and integrations across cloud-based and service-oriented architectures. AI-assisted development is a core part of the team’s workflow. The Senior Developer directs AI coding agents to prepare technical plans, generate code and tests, and open pull requests, while applying engineering judgment to review the work for accuracy, security, quality, scope, and potential regressions. The role remains accountable for changes released to production and helps establish effective AI-development practices, mentor teammates, and improve shared agent prompts, skills, and rules. The position partners with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver business value, establish technical direction, improve application health and performance, and support continuous delivery. It is remote for candidates in the continental United States, with candidates in the Dallas–Fort Worth area preferred. Travel to the Farmer’s Branch, Texas headquarters is expected approximately twice per year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 8 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining production web or business applications, including 3 or more years with C#/.NET.
At least 8 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Daily, hands-on experience using AI coding agents or assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor on real development work.
Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core/ASP.NET MVC, and Entity Framework, with solid SQL Server skills, including query analysis and working with large production tables.
Experience designing, maintaining, and consuming REST APIs; familiarity with GraphQL and third-party or legacy integrations is beneficial.
Full-stack development experience with Angular, React, Vue, or a similar framework, as well as HTML5, CSS3, and JSON.
Experience with Azure, cloud application architecture, service-oriented systems, Git-based CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot complex software and system solutions, and identify security or quality issues in AI-generated code.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, technical documentation, code reviews, and established quality assurance practices.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with product owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience developing AI-agent skills, MCP servers, custom tool integrations, or AI-assisted software development workflows.
Knowledge of AI-related risks, including prompt injection, secret handling, data protection, and licensing of generated code.
Familiarity with Azure App Services, Key Vault, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Entra ID, Sentry, or ConfigCat.
Experience with API management tools such as Sentinet and CI/CD platforms such as CircleCI or Octopus Deploy.
Python experience and knowledge of Linux; familiarity with Ruby, Nuxt.js, Heroku, or Selenium.
Experience with ERP/CRM platforms such as Business Central or SalesLogix, home security systems, or alarm-monitoring workflows.
Experience mentoring developers through changes in tools, technology, or development processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the application development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, code review, and ongoing support.
Design, build, and maintain .NET web applications, APIs, and integrations in accordance with company standards and REST principles.
Develop solutions across cloud-based and service-oriented architectures, integrating CRM, ERP, inventory, and monitoring platforms.
Investigate and resolve production issues using application logs, telemetry, databases, and AI-assisted analysis; document fixes and maintain runbooks.
Maintain coding standards, improve application performance, address technical debt, and support continuous integration.
Translate Jira stories into clear, testable acceptance criteria, including edge cases and failure scenarios.
Direct AI coding agents to develop file-level technical plans and implement code, tests, and pull requests.
Review AI-generated plans, code, and tests for accuracy, security, scope, quality, and potential regressions.
Maintain traceability from requirements and technical plans through testing and deployment, including documentation for change approval requests.
Evaluate test results in system integration and staging environments and determine when changes are ready for production.
Improve shared agent prompts, skills, and rules, and coach developers on effective AI use and appropriate human review.
Help establish technical and architectural direction for applications and systems.
Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to explore solutions and deliver business value.
Lead peer reviews and quality assurance activities, participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, and recommend process improvements.
Mentor developers and share technical knowledge with engineering, support, and cross-functional teams.
Research new tools and frameworks and assess their impact on business processes, application health, and performance.
