About The Position

The IT and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the City by providing expertise in technology, data security and administrative processes through Tier 1, Tier 2 and some Tier 3 IT capabilities. This position involves managing systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality and implementing secure, efficient processes that align with the City, Security, and IT best practices. Preferably familiar with Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS).

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in IT, administration or a similar role
Strong understanding of processes and data management principles
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion
Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, CJIS and other Microsoft Office tools
Desktop IT experience preferred
Eager to learn and adapt to new systems and software, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Criminal Justice Information Service (CJIS)
Tech school graduate or an associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Administer and optimize information systems and databases
Collaborate to ensure seamless integration of technologies
Provide technical support and training for staff on various platforms
Implement and maintain robust data protection measures for sensitive information
Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments of systems
Assist the IT and Security Manager with ID Badge issuing and annual ID Badge exchange
Identify opportunities to streamline processes through technology
Develop and implement automated workflows and reporting solutions
Collaborate with teams to understand needs and provide technological solutions
Generate comprehensive reports and analytics to support decision-making
Develop dashboards and visualizations for key security metrics
Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems
Lead technology implementation projects
Coordinate with vendors and team to ensure successful project delivery
Develop and implement the set-up of systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity across departments.
