About The Position

Wealthspire’s 10-week Summer Internship Program offers hands-on experience with modern software engineering, including development and infrastructure. The intern will work alongside the engineering team on meaningful projects and learn how code moves from concept to production securely, reliably, and repeatably. The role contributes to development activities while building practical skills in scalable engineering practices and understanding how business priorities become secure, sustainable technology solutions. Interns also gain exposure to the financial services industry and Wealthspire’s IT/AI function.

Requirements

• Preferably be a rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong interest in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of software development concepts, data structures, algorithms, APIs, databases, or cloud technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation, or data analysis through coursework, academic projects, or prior experience.
• Prior internship or project experience; not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and implementation of software and AI-enabled solutions under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Contribute to projects that address business needs and improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with writing, reviewing, and troubleshooting code in accordance with established development standards and best practices.
• Participate in data preparation, model testing, and evaluation of AI tools or solutions, as applicable.
• Support integration and deployment of applications across development and production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver practical technology solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including project updates, testing results, and process guides.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available to support essential job functions.
