About The Position

TENEX is seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Administrator to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role is perfect for an IT administrator with a strong foundational understanding of security, eager to evolve into a full-fledged security specialist. The IT Administrator will play a crucial role in safeguarding TENEX's entire IT infrastructure and digital assets, including those of their valued customers. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge security controls and building out robust security capabilities from the ground up. The IT Administrator will be instrumental in ensuring seamless IT operations while proactively strengthening TENEX's and its customers’ security posture against an ever-evolving threat landscape through robust engineering practices and intelligent automation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in IT administration
  • Expert proficiency in Google Workspace administration, Google Cloud Platform, and identity management solutions (e.g., Google Cloud Identity).
  • Hands-on experience with ZTNA, Mobile Device Management (MDM), EDR solutions (e.g., SentinelOne), and network security concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VPNs).
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting security tools such as firewalls, SIEM platforms (e.g., Google SecOps, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), and vulnerability scanners.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices across major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure coding practices.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation, API integration, data analysis, and custom tool development are highly desirable and critical for this role.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to complex technical challenges.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a keen eye for detail and a steadfast commitment to security best practices and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2).
  • A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging threats.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize a wide range of essential IT systems, including communication platforms, various cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform), and other critical IT technologies.
  • Manage and maintain core identity systems (e.g., Google Identity) and ensure the secure and efficient operation of our Google Workspace environment.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all managed systems through proactive monitoring, configuration management, and regular backups.
  • Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT and security issues, escalating to specialized teams when necessary.
  • Maintain a diverse suite of security tools and technologies, including next-generation firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
  • Contribute to the support development and enforcement of robust security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
  • Support system hardening efforts for operating systems, applications, and network devices to minimize attack surfaces and enhance resilience.
  • Champion the integration of the DevOps lifecycle, helping to build and mature our "configuration-as-code" capabilities.
  • Leverage APIs to integrate various services with IT systems, enabling advanced automation and improved security orchestration.
  • Develop and implement automated workflows to streamline IT operations, improve efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
