About The Position

The Israel Education and Engagement Manager strengthens the connection between our local Jewish community and Israel through strategic initiatives, partnership management, community programming, educational support, and relationship building. The role leads collaborative Israel engagement programs, oversees emissaries, and fosters connection with local Israeli residents.

Requirements

Strong personal connection to Israel and deep knowledge of Israeli society, culture, and current events.
3–5+ years in Jewish education, Israel engagement, community relations, or related fields.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship building skills.
Experience working with diverse communities, including Israelis and interfaith partners.
Ability to collaborate effectively with lay leaders and professional staff.
Hebrew proficiency required.
Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel to Israel as needed.

Responsibilities

Serve as the organization’s expert on Israel engagement trends, Israel education, and community needs.
Establish and track metrics to evaluate the impact of Israel education and engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with Marketing on messaging, storytelling, and promotion of Israel-related programs.
Share impact stories, program updates, and outcomes with community stakeholders.
Provide support and resources to day schools, congregational schools, and early childhood centers on Israel and Hebrew curriculum.
Connect schools with Israel educators, experts, and relevant programs.
Offer and plan professional development opportunities for educators on Israel engagement.
Convene Judaics Studies Principals Network and Hebrew Educator Network Meetings
Supervise and support Shlichim and future Shinshinim, including placements, schedules, and evaluations.
Strengthen their integration across schools, synagogues, and communal institutions.
Strengthen and maintain partnerships with synagogues, schools, agencies, and community groups.
Create diverse cultural, educational, and community-wide programs showcasing Israeli society and advocacy.
Coordinate/Collaborate with Federation Mission Team on Israel travel opportunities
Serve as the primary liaison to the local Israeli community.
