About The Position

The Intelligence Studies Project (ISP) seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator with a focus on events, communications, and administrative support. ISP is a program under the Clements Center for National Security and the Strauss Center for International Security and Law. This role provides valuable support in planning, organizing, and executing a wide range of activities aimed at enhancing the student experience. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a demonstrated passion for mentoring students—especially those pursuing careers in public service and national security. This position involves event coordination, administrative support, marketing and promotion, logistics management, and collaboration with campus departments. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students as they explore academic and professional opportunities in national security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of experience supporting, coordinating, or administering a program.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • A professional demeanor, punctuality, reliability, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging with and supporting students in academic or cocurricular settings.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative software.

  • Experience at the University of Texas at Austin at plus.
  • Background or interest in history and national security policy a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing Intelligence Studies Project (ISP) events, conferences, and student programs. This includes logistical support such as managing registrations, applications, travel arrangements, catering, facilities coordination, and basic event marketing.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations like the Strauss Center, Clements Center, and America in the World Consortium for co-sponsored events and student opportunities.
  • Support the ISP team with general administrative duties such as processing receipts and payment vouchers, ordering supplies, managing travel logistics, and maintaining departmental records.
  • Prepare promotional materials for events using tools such as Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.
  • Support event outreach efforts by contributing to marketing strategies that elevate the visibility and impact of ISP programming.
  • Provide flexible support for additional tasks and responsibilities that arise, adapting to the evolving needs of the Center.

  • Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
