About The Position

This role involves operating specialized equipment to manage intermodal containers within a depot environment. The position requires a certified forklift operator who can handle 20’ ISO tanks/containers and operate a yard spotter for moving chassis and containers. The job also includes documentation, equipment inspection, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess and maintain current certification in the operations of required forklift and related equipment
  • Adequate computer skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to follow spoken and written instruction
  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Dependable transportation is required
  • Ability to pass required Safety Council training examinations
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug screen
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects.
  • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities.
  • Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position
  • Preferred experience in driving and operating a container lift and/or spotter.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components.

Responsibilities

  • Operates forklifts to move intermodal equipment on/off chassis and into/out of storage.
  • Operates the yard spotter to assist with moving tanks on chassis and chassis around the depot.
  • Creates the mount list, positioning equipment to and from cleaning bays and repair shops.
  • Documents the location of equipment utilizing the Depot Systems equipment tracking system.
  • Updates electronic equipment tracking systems.
  • Ensures equipment is in proper working order and documents inspections, reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintains daily inspection logs for equipment and reports exceptions.
  • Ensures equipment receives periodic maintenance.
  • Handles product temperature requirements.
  • Fills and delivers material vouchers to production crews.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment failures.
  • Understands and uses computerized maintenance systems.
  • Communicates effectively with Dispatchers and Drivers to ensure production and customer needs are met.
  • Follows safety procedures and promotes a safe environment.
  • Complies with established ISO standards when required.
  • Performs facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
