About The Position

CTG is seeking an experienced iSeries Engineer (IBM i / AS400) for a role supporting enterprise Power Systems environments. This is a hybrid role located in the Phoenix, AZ metro area, with an initial duration of 6 months and the option to convert to a permanent position after that period. The role requires supporting enterprise Power Systems environments and involves administering, supporting, and optimizing IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) and Power Systems environments. Key activities include system monitoring, performance tuning, capacity management, OS upgrades, patching, PTF maintenance, and supporting DB2 for i, RPG, CL, BRMS, and IBM MQ environments. The engineer will also manage system security, user profiles, compliance controls, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and support backup, recovery, DR, and high availability solutions. Collaboration with other teams, development of automation scripts, maintenance of operational runbooks, and participation in on-call rotations are also expected.

Requirements

  • IBM i / AS400 / iSeries administration (5+ years)
  • IBM Power Systems infrastructure support
  • DB2 for i, RPG, CL
  • IBM MQ and BRMS
  • System performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Security administration and system compliance
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities
  • Experience supporting hybrid enterprise environments
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group

Responsibilities
