About The Position

The Business Application Analyst is responsible for the configuration, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Workday platform. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to ensure Workday solutions align with business needs, support operational efficiency, and maintain data integrity. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert for assigned Workday modules and plays a key role in system enhancements, reporting, and troubleshooting. Additionally support Workday integrations with other enterprise systems such as UKG, Servicenow, Strata, and ancillary HR systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • 2 – 5 years of Workday experience.
  • Strong understanding of Workday business processes, security, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting at least one core Workday module (HCM, Payroll, Financials, etc.).
  • Three to five years of experience in an Information Systems environment.
  • Outstanding Written and Verbal communications skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong personal ownership with the ability to set and meet high professional standards.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Organization Skills.
  • Ability to interact with non-IS associates and management on projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in an Information Systems environment; two to four years of experience in software development.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare environment, HL7, Microsoft operating system, SQL database structure, query language and networking protocols.
  • Experience with web technologies, such as Java, C#, REST/SOAP, and scripting languages.
  • Hands on experience in software development and coding; experience in more than one programming language preferred; passionate about coding.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Financials, Recruiting, and Talent.
  • Support EIBs and create integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems.
  • Gather and analyze operational workflows, technical requirements, and functional specifications for various business applications.
  • Demonstrate business and application expertise during workflow design, validation sessions, integrated work sessions, and on-going system optimizations.
  • Work with users, other IS analysts and system vendors to design, develop, test, and implement business applications and data integration solutions.
  • Perform application and integration testing using structured test scripts; document results and follow up on identified issues.
  • Test software prior to implementation, as well as that of others on the Business Applications Team, against project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot system issues when necessary, solving moderate to complex application and integration issues. Follow up in a timely manner with appropriate customers and IS personnel.
  • Ensure change control and change management procedures are properly followed.
  • Routinely review system integration error queues. Work with customer and IS personnel for resolution of errors.
  • Create documentation and knowledge articles for assigned development projects; review that of others on the Business Applications Team.
  • Actively communicate with team members and IS Management regarding ongoing project statuses.
  • Escalate issues to IS Management when appropriate.
  • Effectively communicate with customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current technology in use at Shepherd Center and its ability to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide general support, administration, and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform and associated applications.
  • Member of the Business Applications team On Call rotation as necessary for afterhours system interface support.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
