The IS Business Systems Analyst works as part of the Information Services team as the primary liaison between Information Services and business partners with responsibility for ensuring the requirements identified for a business solution are comprehensive, aligned with the actual needs of the business and successfully delivered. Additionally, this role will perform business and system analysis, create test scripts, facilitate testing and provide first level application support. The individual may perform project tasks to drive measurable improvements. Some travel may be required as needed to support initiatives. Duties/Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include: Collaborate with the business to explore, identify, and document business requirements, workflows, and process improvements. Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to elicit and validate requirements. Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from underlying business needs. Conduct gap analyses and root cause investigations to support business process re-engineering. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents, functional requirements, use cases, user stories, process maps, and training materials. Ensure documentation repositories are organized, up to date, and accessible. Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Information Services, Shared Services, Operations) to ensure successful solution design and implementation. Participate in technical design discussions to confirm requirements are accurately translated into solutions. Recognize and articulate business and technical trade-offs to support decision-making. Support and perform testing activities including functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Assist in resolving application issues through system administration or configuration (e.g., report/dashboard enhancements). Develop and deliver training materials; assist in training business application champions. Contribute to organizational change management plans and ensure readiness for solution adoption. Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency in business processes. Evaluate application software packages for alignment with business needs. Maintain a general understanding of business functions and processes to support requirement sessions and solution development. Participate in planning and prioritization of system maintenance and enhancements. Adhere to project management and software delivery methodologies. Serve as a subject matter expert and, when assigned, act as project manager for key initiatives. Ensure all required project documentation is current and accurate. Successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Perform other duties as assigned.
