Requirements

  • 1 year landscaping experience or Turf Management Certification
  • 3 months irrigation experience
  • California Driver's License in good standing
  • Ability to detect, isolate, and repair water line breaks
  • Ability to shovel dirt and sand
  • Ability to dig trenches and install water lines
  • Ability to regulate water distribution and suppression
  • Ability to communicate in the English language
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • High end golf course Irrigation Technician experience
  • Ability to recognize turf diseases and fungus
  • Multi-lingual

Responsibilities

  • Operates, maintains, and repairs existing and new irrigation systems
  • Ensures irrigation systems are operational by manually turning on sprinkler stations, conducting visual assessments of sprinkler heads, repairing and/or replacing broken or missing parts, identifying and repairing minor leaks, and reporting major leaks to the Resort Lead Irrigation Technician.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area by observing established safety standards while using tools, performing repairs, removing debris, and cleaning equipment.
  • Maintains golf course turf and grounds by tilling, cultivating and grading new turf areas, applying prescribed amounts of fertilizer, insecticide, and fungicide, mowing rough and fairway areas at designated cut, mowing turf on green and tee areas, digging and raking ground to prepare new greens, grading and cleaning traps, repairing roadbeds, setting up tees and hole locations, trimming decorative trees and brush, watering turf and grounds as needed, and reporting non-routine findings to the Course Maintenance Assistant Superintendent and/or Course Maintenance Superintendent.
